"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side." - Hunter S. Thompson

BurnLounge is an Independent Online Digital Music Retailer that was created in order to set things right within a very much now corrupt music industry. It seems that too much money within the music industry is not awarded to the appropriate people and ends up in the pockets of the undeserving. BurnLounge takes the base plan of ITunes & goes a step further, incorporating community and revenue generating opportunities for individuals. You are empowered to become your own record store owner, customize your music library (including that from all 5 major record labels) and make money off of each download. If you're an artist, you can finally cut out all of the middle men and sell your music directly to your fans. If you were waiting for the next big thing, this is it. Whether you want to accept it or not, times are changing. In 2003, Digital Downloads brought in $83 Million. In 2008 they're estimated to bring in $4.5 Billion. Digital Downloads are truly the wave of the future for the music industry. So hop on & start surfing.

WHAT BURNLOUNGE DISAGREED WITH IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY:

- Too many great bands are not getting noticed due to the fact that they are unsigned.

- Some great bands that do get signed in turn must alter their unique and original sound.

- Some record labels truly rape the artist(s) of most profits made.

- The amount received by bands from ITunes, Napster, Rhapsody, Etc. ends up being around 10-20% due to the record companies sharing of the profits. Although, if an independent musician goes through CDBaby.com, they can have their music put on that of ITunes and receive an extrememly high % in profits. CDBaby is Exclusive though & they call the shots for the most part, Not You.

WHAT BURNLOUNGE HAS CREATED FOR MUSICIANS:

- It's free for Musicians to submit & sell their music from BurnLounge!

- You do not have to be signed in order to sell music on BurnLounge. All smaller independent labels are also welcome. All that is required is that you have a professional recording that is marketable. This is not the case with most other Online Digital Music Retailers. Now bands no longer need a label nor do they have to worry about altering their music in order to be successful.

- All copyrights still belong to the Musicians.

- BurnLounge is Non-Exclusive for all involved.

- BurnLounge rewards anywhere from 50%-70% of each song sold, back to the artist. We are one of the only Online Music Retailer who adequately recognizes the performer with appropriate financial compensation. Without the artists there would be no art and we understand this.

WHAT BURNLOUNGE HAS CREATED FOR MUSIC FANS:

Because without the fans, the music would die, fans are rewarded for purchasing music. This means that with each song purchased, fans will get reward points of which they can then turn in for free music of their choice. I know that there are plenty out there who feel they've been taken advantage of by the greedy record companies, so they then turn to illegal downloading. In truth, can you blame them? We must not forget, though, that we're here to support the bands that we love, because without them, there would be no music. You no longer have to feel like you're being ripped off. We are not trying to take advantage of anyone and want to give back to the fans for their support. This is a package which is also great for students and anyone else trying to conserve money.

WHAT BURNLOUNGE HAS CREATED FOR RETAILERS/MOGULS:

This is what I am, and if you're truly a music lover this is what I encourage all to be, even bands. Being a retailer allows you to build teams that build teams. You can team up with bands, fans, & other retailers, creating and expanding your online franchise as far as you're able. This allows you to not only make profit off of your music, or any music sold off of your store, but also from any of your team-mates stores. Understand too, that having more team-mates doesn't mean you'd be splitting up what you're making. You always make the same amount and just get extra from shared percentages, think commissions + franchising. Team members are a huge part in your success, because the more on your team, the more people that are being reached, which in turn means more exposure for the bands you're promoting & maximum profit for yourself. So let's say you have a friend who's on your team, but centered in Alaska. If he gives somebody his card and then someone purchases music from his store, you get a % of that sale too since he's on your team, but not actually taking any money away from him. So imagine once you have 100 people on your team, then 500, then 1000, etc. Now we all have the ability to be an intimate member of the music industry and for the all around good of things...
